NASA: We are getting ready to use the SpaceX spacecraft

A leaking Soyuz spacecraft raises concerns about how astronauts will be evacuated

And NASA announced that the SpaceX Crew Dragon vehicle

which is currently docked on the International Space Station (ISS)

It can be used to transport additional crew members to the ground in case of an emergency.

After a coolant leak in the Russian Soyuz spacecraft

docked at the International Space Station in December,

International space agencies including NASA and Roscosmos have worked together

To come up with a plan to get the crew members safely home,

And the plan they settled on was to use

A replacement Soyuz spacecraft will be launched in February.

However, observers were worried about what would happen

In an emergency that requires evacuating the International Space Station

From now until the alternate Soyuz arrives,

The crew members usually evacuate in the vehicles in which they traveled to the station,

But with the Soyuz leak, it’s not certain

Whether the car will be safe for the return trip.

The problem is that without a Soyuz cooler,

It can warm up as it returns through Earth’s atmosphere
